The loop's integrator bound counts only on a cycle the loop decided. A battery another owner set (maintenance, the peak guard, a safety limit) alarms only when it gives more than saturation_w less than told for saturation_cycles cycles. At N>=2 the loop is bounded while maintenance holds a battery, so it does not wind and control comes back one slew step a cycle. The status row counts episodes, not cycles. Digests re-pinned where behaviour changed on purpose; DECISIONS/SAFETY-85-no-false-not-keeping-up.md has the list. """Runnable check for OPT-11 P1, battery modes. `python3 test_modes.py`
Each battery gets an on/off switch and a mode (Solar first, Leftover solar),
kept in the store and filed as a SOFT unit limit at P_MODE (35). Drives the
REAL `Controller` (read_inputs + cycle) through tools/opt11_identity.py's
harness, in simulated time. DECISIONS/OPT-11-battery-modes.md has the record.
1. With battery modes off, every command is byte-identical to release/1.0
a5dddad, at one inverter and at two (digests measured on that tree).
2. Solar order: surplus solar fills the Solar first battery, then spills to the
Leftover solar one; a full Solar first battery hands all of it on.
3. Off: the battery is asked for 0 W, the others carry the site, the loop is
bounded and never freezes on watts no battery may give; all off at N=1 and
N=2 asks 0 W.
4. Off stops and skips maintenance, with a log line; a battery in maintenance
gets no mode claim.
5. The actions: `pack_use` and `pack_mode`, what they store, log and refuse.
6. A mode range without 0 W is dropped as a software fault, logged once.
7. The Batteries screen's data.
Mutations (MUTATION.md, purged copies, graded over this file and the named
tests) are listed in the pull request and DECISIONS/OPT-11-battery-modes.md.
